Remember, “sticks and stones can break my bones, but words cannot harm me’? Wrong!
Words have the ultimate power over us – they can make us or break us…. especially those we speak to ourselves…
Our thoughts, the dialogue inside our heads, the words we speak – to ourselves and others, are mostly “set on the regular wash cycle”, going round and round in our heads, serving us with the same experiences over and over. That is why when things are going well, everything just seems to fall into place, and when things are not going so well, we feel as if the world is against us.
To change your life, you have to change your thoughts. It is a choice to be different to how you are right now, and then you have to put in the work and habitually make the daily choices to be the person we want to be.
So how do we do that?
We take action. We stop thinking about how we are going to work through a problem, and we move bravely, with just one step towards where we want to be.
Start with a new habit – and begin the journey of breaking your old habit of over-thinking and being stuck in your head.
· Set your alarm clock and wake up an hour earlier each day.
· Move your body daily.
· Recite your affirmations.
· Take a 2-minute cold shower.
· Journal your thoughts.
· Meditate/ sit in quiet contemplation
